Emporion research data

In seeking to provide a platform for the open access publication of research data pertaining to social and economic history, the DFG Priority Program 1859 Experience and Expectation. Historical Foundations of Economic Behavior and the Gesellschaft für Sozial- und Wirtschaftsgeschichte, in conjunction with the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin – Preußischer Kulturbesitz, have launched Emporion, which has been available online since March 2023.

As a research data hub for social and economic history, Emporion offers a platform for the publication, indexing, and long-term storage of time series, historical statistical and panel data, georeferenced vector data, and text mining analysis results, as well as data papers describing them, in accordance with the FAIR Guiding Principles for Scientific Data Management and Stewardship. Emporion is also open to contributions from the fields of business and environmental history and the history of technology.
